Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Group Description
'Database test development' group, (part of the database
server group of Server Technologies Division) works on
the upcoming releases of Oracle database server.
Data Warehousing and Languages Testing (DWALT) team is
part of 'Database Test Development' group and is
responsible for testing the SQL/PLSQL engine of RDBMS
enveloping areas like Optimizer, SQL Manageability,
Parallel Execution, ETL, OLAP, partitioning, and
advanced analytics. The group foresees database product
usage scenarios; simulates real life problems;
develops test applications; tests the forthcoming
release of Oracle database server and ensures that the
customers get the highest quality database.
The group with its state of the art development infrastructure and practices helps shape technology that has been important for a large number of Fortune 2000 and other companies.

DWALT team is looking for candidates who can design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications and tools.
Detailed Description
As a member of the DWALT team, you will experience the complete software development lifecycle. During the development cycle, you will be responsible for test development of functionality based on the supplied functional and design specifications. In addition, you also will have opportunities to develop tools and utilities to support the testing infrastructure and improve productivity of team members in testing and development organizations.
Job Requirements
Performs moderately complex tasks with minimal assistance and guidance. You will work closely with development with product management to understand the functionality and design of the product in order to come up with test specification and then develop tests. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
Additional Details
Bachelors / Masters from a premier institution
1 years of work experience with relational databases on Linux/Unix based systems
Programming experience with languages like C/C /Java/SQL/PL-SQL
Good experience in Perl/Shell Scripting.
Good knowledge of Operating System
Experience with Linux/Unix System administration commands, storage configurations, network configurations would be a big plus.
Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies, adeptness in seeking simple/scalable solutions to complex problems.
