ENGINEERING SUPPORT SPECIALISTREDWOOD CITY, CA Required Skills:
A BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with at least 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience (preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations).
Independent thinker, who with little oversight, can identify and diagnose problems, and implement appropriate and sustainable solutions.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to work with people from varied backgrounds and experiences.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
Available to perform after hours and weekend work, including being on-call.
Experience in or with the following is desired, but not essential:
Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Reliability Centered Maintenance.
Purified Water, HVAC, and compressed gas systems.
Vendor, contract and project management.
Project Description:
Client is focused on developing and manufacturing combination therapies for the treatment of highly prevalent chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
Client's products will offer therapies to patients and healthcare providers that will achieve better clinical outcomes.
With the FDA approval and launch, Client is looking to expand their manufacturing capabilities in Redwood City.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Engineer will support the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the facilities/utilities used by Manufacturing Operations at Client's Redwood City site.
This includes investigation and troubleshooting of equipment failures, supporting maintenance and calibration activities, and implementation of small capital projects ($100k).
Be a first responder for any facility/utility equipment or system breakdown.
Initiate investigations, perform root cause analysis and implement appropriate fixes.
Oversee maintenance and project activities, ensuring that they are performed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.
Continually look for ways to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Propose and implement projects for the modification of existing or purchase of new equipment.
Implement company environment, health and safety policies as they apply to facility/utility equipment and processes.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Capable of operating a computer and sitting for extended periods.
Some lifting required 50 lbs.
or less, occasional lifting over 50 lbs.
with materials handling tools and or assistance.
Have sufficient dexterity to don and doff clean room clothing over normal work attire.
